The error count notifies you if the CTT received an error from the server when passing on the transaction. When this occurs, the CTT gives an error and tries again later. After five attempts the CTT will stop and you will have to reset the CTT by reactivating it. Of course it's important to check if all information is filled in correctly in the CTT.
